"Great tuna salad for lunch and the most helpful and attentive lady serving!"
4 It's a popular place. Although the waiters are very fast, you may have to wait a while.
5 Having arrived in Trieste for our first ever visit we need to spend two hours before we can book into our apartment. Quick Google " pubs and bars near me" and lo and behold I had to walk 10 metres. Took an outside seat and ordered two Aperol Spritz for Madge and Paulicarus. Very good. Forgotten that drinks in Italy tend to come with some scoobie snacks. In this case crostini and mayo. Good service...also forgot you tend to be given a ticket to take inside to pay: and find out the bill. Italy can be confusing says Madge. Interesting food, even Bilbao style Pinchos. 4.50€ per Aperol Spritz.
5 El Barcollo is a charming small bar nestled in the heart of Trieste that has captured our hearts. The cozy interior and inviting terrace create a warm ambiance, making it the perfect spot to unwind. What sets this place apart is its impressive wine list, offering a diverse selection that caters to various preferences. The real stars, however, are the tantalizing tartins – small sandwiches bursting with flavor. Our favorites, the cacio e pepe, carbonara and pulled pork, left our taste buds delighted. El Barcollo has become our go-to spot in Trieste; it’s always bustling with activity, a testament to its popularity. We wholeheartedly recommend this gem to anyone seeking a delightful experience in the city.
5 We ordered 1 pistachio croissant, 1 cream cake and 1 this black ice coffee, we’re amazed by this new kind of icy drink. There were many guests and we were happy that we charged our phone while being served with delicious. Croissant was filled of cream so really appreciated
5 Amazing...the staff explained and recommended various types of good, affordable wine. And the small plates are amazing...i've been living in europe for more than a year also visiting italy several times, and could definitely say that this is one of the best bars. The shrimp bruschetta with truffle carbonara sauce almost brought me tears of joy...
5 We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The staff were incredibly kind and very knowledgeable they explained every little sandwich in detail, which was the first time we experienced such service in Triest! The selection of sandwiches is truly original; we’ve never seen anything like it before. The Aperol was delicious, the service excellent, and the music created a great atmosphere. It’s a really lovely place, just a few minutes from the sea. Highly recommended!
5 During our short stay, we came back twice. We were impressed with both the drinks and the food. Highly recommended!
